How do I get started?
We will be happy to schedule a free screening as to how we can proceed and if a referral will be needed for occupational or physical therapy. Evaluations include standardized assessments as well as through clinical observations.
How often are therapy sessions?
After an evaluation, we will discuss our recommendations. We will collaborate with you to develop a treatment plan tailored to your child’s specific needs. Goals will be established together. Sessions usually are 1-2 times per week. Parents also appreciate that we offer intensive programs finding them beneficial for their child’s progress.
My child does not have a learning disability but I think he could use some extra help with handwriting, can you see him?
Absolutely. Our one-on-one handwriting and learning programs are individualized to work children of all abilities. Yes, it is possible to arrange for friends to have a session at the same time. Here, children are active and have fun while learning!
What days/hours are you available?
We have flexible hours, including evening hours and weekends. Please call to schedule an initial appointment ahead of time, as we may be working with another family.
What ages do you work with?
We provide services to children 6 month of age through young adulthood. Yes, we work with teenagers too. Whether we are working with infants, children, teenagers, or young adults our services are age appropriate.
Can you see my child at home?
We are not located in a hospital or an office building so your child won’t feel like he is going to “therapy”. Our setting is very child-friendly. In addition to our clinic, we provide services in children’s home, school and in the community. Equipment in our clinic is nice and carryover is important. We teach parents practical strategies that they can use in a natural environment.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a PPO Blue Cross Blue Shield Provider. We are out of network for other insurance companies and will help you with documentation. We do not accept Medicaid. Even if a hospital based clinic or other facility says they accept your insurance, health insurance coverage can never be guaranteed as each individual’s plan is different. Many of our parents choose to pay privately. We provide parents with a reduced hourly rate if their insurance ran out or their child’s diagnosis is not covered by insurance. Other places may be driven by quotas. Lynx is driven to provide your child with the best quality of care.
